hwellmann.de Nov 5, 2013 4:15 PM (in response to javacoryd)I don't know about environment variables, but you can reference system properties in standalone.xml with the familiar ${...} syntax. You can also provide default values using a colon as separator, e.g.
${my.jdbc.password:secret}
Use -D options with standalone.sh to add individual properties, or a -P option to read properties from a given URL.
This is not guaranteed to work for all subsystems, but it has worked for me in every concrete use case I've had so far.

use expressions but prefix them with env.
for example ${env.JAVA_HOME:/path/to/default/java/home}
i would suggest you use AS 7.2+ given that we added support for expression on most attributes.
