tmcclure0501 Nov 10, 2013 9:27 PM (in response to tmcclure0501)I am a bit surprised no one else is experiencing this issue - we are able to compile the code on a Mac but it hanged on every Linux VM inside VirtualBox across multiple machines - we need a Linux development environment option as we do not have access to Macs across te team.

swiderski.maciej Nov 11, 2013 2:43 AM (in response to tmcclure0501)have you tried to run it on linux but not on virtual box? It's been a while since I used Linux for building console but it used to work. I'll give a try later today and post back results. Was using Fedora 16 at that time.

salaboy21 Nov 11, 2013 5:04 AM (in response to tmcclure0501)I'm installing a Virtual Box now in my Mac with Ubuntu.
This should be about the maven/java versions and the memory allocation. We have other team members working with linux boxes and they work everyday with the app, so we need to reproduce this issue in order to find what is going on.
Cheers

salaboy21 Nov 11, 2013 10:44 AM (in response to salaboy21)I've manage to reproduce the issue using VirtualBox and Ubuntu 13.04. It seems to be related with errai, because all the projects using errai are hanging in the same place.
I will check with the errai team to see what is going on there.

manstis Nov 11, 2013 10:54 AM (in response to tmcclure0501)I'm a Drools developer; using Ubuntu 12.04 and compile OK.
I don't use the JDK that comes with Ubuntu mind you; I've installed Sun's JDK1.6.0_45 (and very occasionally Sun's JDK1.7.0_45).
You could try a non-OpenJDK JDK.

tmcclure0501 Nov 11, 2013 11:52 AM (in response to salaboy21)Mauricio,
Thanks for looking into the issue - I installed Ubuntu to dual boot on my PC and in the native Ubuntu environment the compilation was successful. I suspected VirtualBox may not be allocating all the resources - I noticed in the VB compile my local worker threads was set to 1 even though I have multiple processors. Anyway I am fine working in the dual boot environment - probably more reliable - probably would be good for the errai team explore the issue as it might expose a potentially more significant issue - thanks for your help.

salaboy21 Nov 11, 2013 11:59 AM (in response to tmcclure0501)Hi Tim,
I've just managed to find a workaround on virtual box. If you enable a second CPU to the virtual machine it will go through the compilation process.
This seems to be a deadlock in errai. We are looking into it, in the mean time I'm glad to here that you manage to compile the project.
If you can try in a different machine the Virtual Box workaround, let me know about the results, so your team can work on the project.
