1. Re: how to configure a cluster with jboss eap 6.1 version
wdfink Nov 18, 2013 4:44 AM (in response to ohmygod)Hi Mike,
which EAP version do you use? The free 6.1.Alpha or a EAP version with a subscription?
You might have a look to this High Availability Guide
To start a cluster use a *ha* standalone configuration or a domain profile. It depends on the application and server environment whether you have improvements and how the behaviour is.
You might need to do a bit extra work in the application.
What type of application do you plan to cluster?

rhusar Nov 18, 2013 4:54 AM (in response to ohmygod)Is this effective for performance improvement?
What other options are you considering? Don't forget that if you replicate session state to achieve high availability, there is some overhead with the session replication.

4. Re: how to configure a cluster with jboss eap 6.1 version
wdfink Nov 19, 2013 7:52 AM (in response to ohmygod)If you have a web application you need to have a web server in front, i.e. often Apache is used.
You can see a simple example for mod_cluster in the documentation AS7 Cluster Howto.
You need to use the Apache to have loadbalancing and failover.
The performance improvement is that you can handle more parallel request. Don't expect that a single request duration is improved.

6. Re: how to configure a cluster with jboss eap 6.1 version
rhusar Nov 19, 2013 8:19 AM (in response to ohmygod)Apache HTTPd is really just a load-balancer. The servers do not necessarily have to cluster.
The enterprise solution is to buy a hardware loadbalancer.
