I am looking for a solution for generating primary keys and I am working with CMP. auto-increment looks very nice as it leaves it to the database, and particularly I would like the keys to be in order by transaction.
Could anyone tell me which databases support this. I am working with postgres for our "out of the box" deployment but don't want to limit ourselfs to this.
Also - which other App Servers are supporting this feature ??
Any portability issues would be appreciated.
