How to authenticate a user using rest url in Gatein

Hi All,

         I need to reuse the gatein authentication mechanism in my standalone mobile application. Is gatein provides any REST API for authentication in my mobile app?

I guess gatein-portal/web/rest/src/main/webapp/META-INF/context.xml that is you want

If you want to check authentication with username/passwrod via REST, following step:

- in file: configuration.properties, set

gatein.sso.callback.enabled=true

- And then you can authentication via

GET http://localhost:8080/portal/rest/sso/authcallback/auth/${username}/${password}

POST http://localhost:8080/portal/rest/sso/authcallback/postauth?username=${username}&password=${password}

Note: if you want to use POST method, please add Content-Type=application/x-www-form-urlencoded in to header of request.

Hi,

for getting roles of user, you can send request via GET method to http://localhost:8080/portal/rest/sso/authcallback/roles/${username} for example http://localhost:8080/portal/rest/sso/authcallback/roles/john

     Thanks for the answer. The above rest url is helpful to find the Groups of the user. Also I want the REST API to get user memberships.
