I've recently updated IE with the latest security patch, the version is now 8.7601.17514. Afterwards the modalPanel is no longer displaying.
The error is:

When looking at the IE Tools script debugger it is failing at panel.component.show().
If someone else could try this to insure it is a real issue (and not just a buggy install of IE8) I would greatly appreciate it.
