1. Re: standalone mode clustered servers deployment
wdfink Jan 16, 2014 6:05 AM (in response to neethal)No, for that you have to use the domain mode and add all cluster members to the same server-group

neethal Jan 16, 2014 8:58 AM (in response to wdfink)Thanks for the reply.. But i came across this stuff,, https://access.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/JBoss_Operations_Network/3.1/html/Dev_Writing_JON_Command-Line_Scripts/ex_cluster.html#copyDeployments is this not related to this. Please advise.

3. Re: standalone mode clustered servers deployment
wdfink Jan 16, 2014 4:57 PM (in response to neethal)That is a different thing. With JON (JBoss Operation Network) you have a separate instance for management at each machine.
But only for deployment I think it will be a bit oversized . But you can use JON to manage and monitor the JBoss instances.
If you search only for a central management I recommend to use the domain mode.

5. Re: standalone mode clustered servers deployment
neethal Jan 22, 2014 7:51 AM (in response to wdfink)Hi, do you suggest to use Domain Mode in Production environment ?? what would be the impact if the server containing DC goes unavailable ?

6. Re: standalone mode clustered servers deployment
wdfink Jan 22, 2014 3:26 PM (in response to neethal)Yes, domain mode is for production use.
If you use the DC without having server instances it will be a management instance and there is no impact to the applications if the server crash.
Only the management fail and the HC will log WARN/ERROR that the DC is not available until you restart it

7. Re: standalone mode clustered servers deployment
neethal Jan 29, 2014 10:01 AM (in response to wdfink)Hello,
Is to possible to create a server group with the JVM of the 2 JBoss standalone instances and use JON to control them. if so, how ?

8. Re: standalone mode clustered servers deployment
wdfink Jan 29, 2014 1:48 PM (in response to neethal)I did not understand your question.
If you have a domain/host controller the server instances (these are similar to the standalone server) are started in separate JVM's
As far as I know there is a JON version to control them, but how to do is outside my knowledge
