Errai Message Bus and External Applications

    mprk

I have an Android phone application that use native libraries for doing map displays. I would like to add a chat capability

to it that mimics the client-to-client communication scenario outlined in the Errai documentation.

Is there a way that one could integrate the Errai Message Bus and the native phone application (which has Java wrappers)?

I started to create a standalone Java application to test this, and every time I start the bus it's looking for GWT xml app config files.

I've seen forum posts to the fact that Errai isn't a true integration hub, where message deliver isn't guaranteed, etc. Would you

want to integrate Errai and HornetQ to accomplish this?

      Regards,

      Matt

          Hi Matt,

We don't currently have a plain Java client for Errai's message bus.

We're definitely interested in having one but it wasn't our top priority. Here's the JIRA that was created a while ago:

          https://issues.jboss.org/browse/ERRAI-299

Integrating Errai with JMS/HornetQ is an interesting idea as well. If you feel like contributing to any of these efforts or share more ideas for an Errai/JMS integration you're more than welcome!

          Cheers,

          Christian
