Overhead of Reading CMP Relationship inside of Transaction

    thuesler

      Hi there

I am actually considering using Entity Bean Releationships to model my dependencies.

Now there is that lovely rule that "A CMR collection may only be used within the transction in which it was created".

In the archives I found quite a bit of talking about that and that there needs to be a tx

I am wondering wheter anyone ever measured the difference between a straight sql fk lookup and the relationship navigation with tx???

      - How expensive is this wrapping a tx???
      - Is it worth running with relationship and using a tx to navigate it?
      - Is it faster if I write a customer finder that looks up by foreign key???

Anyone can give me some hints on what the overhead of this tx is???

      Thanks for some ideas
      T
