1. Re: Using maven repository (Nexus) as a Content Source?
b.eckenfels Feb 4, 2014 4:33 PM (in response to cringe)I guess you can always use an URL which points to an artifact hosted by a maven-style repository (manager). But I agree that it would be good if you could actually use the maven coordinates, have some gui support to allow browsing of artifacts/versions and allow the downloader to use the fingerprint metadata to verify proper transmission as well.

lkrejci Feb 4, 2014 5:18 PM (in response to cringe)1 of 1 people found this helpfulWe are currently having discussions about consolidating our content and bundle subsystems, possibly replacing them with something entirely different. This is a good suggestion that we should keep in mind. Would you please file an RFE (request for enhancement) bug in our bugzilla [1] describing your requirements?
As for the current state of things, we don't have such content source but I imagine it would not be impossible to implement one - content sources are after all server plugins so you could go ahead and write your own. This wiki page can get you started on server plugin development [2]. Namely, you will want to implement a "content plugin", an example of which you can find for example here [3].

3. Re: Using maven repository (Nexus) as a Content Source?
cringe Feb 6, 2014 2:53 AM (in response to lkrejci)Thanks Lukas for the clarification and the links. I'll read up on server plugins and maybe I can come up with a quick solution to my immediate problem (I think, it's mostly about getting the URI to the latest version of an artifact, which I already implemented in a simple java CLI application).
I created https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1062114 in Bugzilla, and I'd appreciate comments about the description of my goal.
