Rest api for aborting timers in jbpm 6

I have a requirement where i configure a timer in my process. I should have an option to cancel the process instance if its current node is a timer node. Is there any rest api call/option to abort the timer node alone first and then the process instance or should we abort the process instance itself initially to cancel the timer ?

you need to abort the process instance and by that timer will be automatically cancelled as well.

     If my requirement is to cancel the timer on a specific response/input and proceed with the execution as such, is there any such custom option available ?

not over REST interface, you could do a manual cancel of a node instance of API.
