1. Re: JMX for the domain controller jvm
dlofthouse Jan 10, 2013 1:20 PM (in response to silver06)The 'Domain Controller' is run within the Host Controller so it sounds like you have already managed to connect to it.

2. Re: JMX for the domain controller jvm
silver06 Jan 10, 2013 3:05 PM (in response to dlofthouse)No I have not managed to do that. I managed to connect to all servers referenced in my host controllers.
Now, I want to connect through JMX to the host controller process of the domain controller itself.
As this one is not managed directly through the different socket bindings and port offsets, I thought about using standard JMX system variables in JBOSS_HOME/bin/domain.conf
However it doesn't work, the domain controller is not starting correctly

3. Re: JMX for the domain controller jvm
silver06 Jan 13, 2013 3:40 PM (in response to silver06)Just to inform that the command I used for configuring this is (domain.conf.bat or domain.conf)
set "HOST_CONTROLLER_JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.authenticate=false -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.ssl=false"
It doesn't work with this stacktrace
[Host Controller] Exception in thread "main" java.lang.IllegalStateException: The LogManager was not properly installed (you must set the "java.util.logging.manager" system property to "org.jboss.logmanager.LogManager")
[Host Controller] at org.jboss.logmanager.Logger.getLogger(Logger.java:61)

5. Re: JMX for the domain controller jvm
blaha.aca Feb 25, 2014 1:44 PM (in response to silver06)I would sure like to know what you did to get your hosts (EWS and EAP) available to JVisualvm. I have spent several days getting JVisualvm connected to the domain controller (followed very closely step by step this post:
http://everything-jboss.blogspot.com/2013/06/ways-of-connecting-to-as-7-using-jmx.html
But I have having difficulty finding what I need to know to connect to the host controllers. Please help me.
