GUI for 6.0?

I am a Bonita community user and looked at jBPM last year sometime. I remember being very impressed with jBPM biut the thing that stopped it for me was there was no GUI interface for users to review tasks, start cases etc. Bonita has one but is short in a lot of other areas.

I see that jBPM 6.0 is out. Does it include a GUI for users or is there a third party GYU that I could use out there?

Hi Eric,

I am sure jBPM 6.0 must have features that would cater for what you are requesting, as regarding their usability, I am not too familiar with it, so would have to let others answer this question.

However, we started a project to enhance jBPM usability, which was a sticking point for us and especially so on the UI. We have built an application that works with jBPM, A1 BPM.

I am getting lots of errors when I log in as Mariano, click on Drafts and click on a task.

I also not getting any data from the amazon server when I click on some of the demos from the website.

*EDIT* I just got in after trying half hour later.

Is this a commercial product or a open source free download product?

Hi Eric,

did you tried KIE-Workbench? We have being working on a modular UI that can be easily extended for the last year or so. In jBPM6 this is the User Interface that you are looking for.

This new UI provides Task Lists, Process Management and business asset authoring tools like for example: Process Designer, Data Modeller, Form Modeller, Decision tables, etc.

It also allows you to deploy projects inside the same tool and run the processes. It also comes integrated with a generic dashboard tool.. that allows you to build reports and dynamic dashboards to analyse the data in real time.

Feel free to try it out and let us know what you think, keeping in mind that you can replace basically each screen for your own domain specific ones if its needed.

There was a time we were updating the live demo site, and was updating the Application Dictionary to support calculated fields in the forms, that could have been the problem. You could check now and let me know.

As regards licensing, we'll probably end up dual-license it, but for now we are distributing it is as a commercial application with a 50 free users license in commercial applications.

It is good to remember then that jBPM is Apache 2 licensed which means that it is free to use and with no restrictions
