1. Re: New Overlord project web sites - feedback welcome
objectiser Mar 14, 2014 8:04 AM (in response to eric.wittmann)Hi Eric
The sites look great. Only comments are:
1) Not sure about the different colour schemes for each project - would prefer a single consistent look and feel.
2) I think the title on the top level page should just be Overlord, with the sub projects having the style you have used, e.g. Overlord: .
In terms of RTGov, it would be great if you could setup the template, and then I can fill in the content. Just leave the top level 'Coming soon' button as is for now.
Thanks.

eric.wittmann Mar 14, 2014 8:09 AM (in response to objectiser)Thanks for the feedback, Gary. I took care of #2 above, but I like the different color schemes for the different sub projects. Will defer to the majority once we get more feedback.
I'll create an rtgov template and let you know when it's ready to be filled with content.

objectiser Mar 14, 2014 8:21 AM (in response to eric.wittmann)One other thought - it might be good to have a tag line under the Overlord title, similar to the ones in sramp and dtgov. Just not sure currently what it should be - possibly "Governance for your enterprise"?

eric.wittmann Mar 14, 2014 8:32 AM (in response to objectiser)Yeah I couldn't think of what it would be either, which is why I left it out. I like "Governance for your enterprise" though.

jorgemoralespou_2 Mar 14, 2014 9:39 AM (in response to eric.wittmann)Hi Eric,
They look awesome. I would love to see material on it, so people can start using it with more confidence.
Only thing I see, it is the navigation back to top level once you get into the subproject "space".
Great work.

eric.wittmann Mar 14, 2014 9:43 AM (in response to jorgemoralespou_2)Oh right - navigation back to the Overlord page! Of course! Good suggestion, thanks Jorge.
But could you expand a bit more on what you mean by this:
I would love to see material on it, so people can start using it with more confidence.

objectiser Mar 17, 2014 5:23 AM (in response to eric.wittmann)Wondering how we handle access to old releases? We now have the current and next versions available - but sometimes users want to download a particular older version.
If we didn't want to fill up the page with an (eventually) long list of releases, the other approach would be to have a description showing the base URL and say 'add the required version here' - although not as user friendly as pressing a link. We would need to make sure the format of the release version remained constant.

eric.wittmann Mar 17, 2014 8:23 AM (in response to objectiser)Good point about old releases. I think it's reasonable to have a "download old releases" page on the project website. That would be easy enough to maintain.
We obviously want to be careful about how many pages the project website contains so we minimize website editing when we do releases. However, this seems like an easy enough thing to add and maintain.
