KIE Workbench in EJB2 Container?

Hi All,

We are trying to deploy KIE WB 6.0.1-Final in SAP Netweaver 7.3.1, which is a JEE5 container, but we are getting ERRAI errors.  The stack traces show code trying to load JEE 6-specific classes.

It must be possible to get it working, because KIE WB runs in Tomcat, which is not a JEE container at all.  I guess I have two questions:

1. Is there a JEE5-compliant version of KIE WB?

2. Can you provide any guidance on how to get it deployed in a JEE5 container, specifically NetWeaver, or how to modify the Tomcat deploy so we can deploy in a JEE container agnostic fashion?

Hi Jay,

as far as I know we are not planning to provide support for netweaver or any other EJB2 container. If Netweaver is JEE5 container it should provide an EJB3 implementation right?

You will need to take a look at how to run CDI on Netweaver and probably you can get it working. Look at the kie-wb-distribution-wars to see how we assembly the version for tomcat: https://github.com/droolsjbpm/kie-wb-distributions/tree/master/kie-wb/kie-wb-distribution-wars

and based on that you can create a new distribution by excluding or adding new jars depending on what netweaver needs. Check in the net weaver forums or customer support to see if they support CDI.
