1. Re: Sticky session with WildFly and mod_proxy
ctomc Jun 27, 2014 12:13 PM (in response to sewatech)this is controlled by node-id attribute in undertow subsystem.
and can be set by using -Djboss.node.name system property.
Which also worked in AS7.x

2. Re: Sticky session with WildFly and mod_proxy
sewatech Jun 27, 2014 2:20 PM (in response to ctomc)Thanks for your help, Tomaz.
I've tried the -Djboss.node.name property, but it didn't add any suffix on the sessionId, as expected by mod_proxy. Neither in WF 8.1 nor in JBoss 7.1.3.

3. Re: Sticky session with WildFly and mod_proxy
ctomc Jun 27, 2014 6:14 PM (in response to sewatech)That should be automatically created when you have <distributable /> flag in web.xml

4. Re: Sticky session with WildFly and mod_proxy
sewatech Jun 28, 2014 3:47 AM (in response to sewatech)The war is already <distributable/>.
I'll setup a brand new example, from scratch, and come back soon to share the result. This way, it'll be easier to see what's wrong.

sewatech Jun 28, 2014 11:33 AM (in response to sewatech)No more chance in my new sample. But with this simple example Tomaz, or someone else, could tell me what's wrong : hasalex/wildfly-sticky-session-example · GitHub

7. Re: Sticky session with WildFly and mod_proxy
sewatech Jun 29, 2014 10:31 AM (in response to sewatech)On twitter, Emmanuel Hugonnet send me a link toArun Gupta's blog post : http://blog.arungupta.me/2014/05/wildfly-cluster-raspberrypi-techtip28/.
If I understand Arun's Apache configuration, I'm wrong when I'm looking for a suffix on the jsessionid. The suffix was the Tomcat way, and it has been replaced by an other cookie.
Is the new cookie the right way to have sticky sessions on WildFly ?

8. Re: Sticky session with WildFly and mod_proxy
ctomc Jun 29, 2014 10:43 AM (in response to sewatech)That sounds wrong. But I haven't have time to look into details yet.

9. Re: Sticky session with WildFly and mod_proxy
sewatech Jun 29, 2014 11:03 AM (in response to sewatech)OK, Tomaz, I've got it:
* No suffix with session.getId()
* Suffix in the cookie
The jboss.node.name is actually added in the jsessionid cookie. My test are failling because I ask the sessionid son server side, which does not have the suffix.

sewatech Jun 29, 2014 11:38 AM (in response to sewatech)FYI, I updated my example to reflect client side / server side session id : hasalex/wildfly-sticky-session-example · GitHub
