jaikiran Jul 26, 2014 8:39 AM (in response to msegreti4355)Take a look at how classloading works https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/AS71/Class+Loading+in+AS7 and how to configure dependencies.

2. Re: Log4j 1.2.17 Jar not found
msegreti4355 Jul 28, 2014 9:04 AM (in response to jaikiran)I have already configured my dependencies for a JAR file based off of the user dependency standards. However, even though my log4j jar is in my class path it still cannot find it at run time. I think what my problem is, is that my log4j-1.2.17.jar is not being built into the jboss-modules.jar file. Does that sound like it could be a possibility?

msegreti4355 Jul 28, 2014 11:26 AM (in response to msegreti4355)In my jboss-deployment-structure.xml I had added the
<exclusions>
<module name="org.apache.log4j"/>
</exclusions>
like it said to in the migration manual however this seemed to be my problem. Removing this allowed my program to find the jar file.

Good to know you got it working. I'm just curious though, which manual says that the exclusion needs to be added?
