does JBoss AS 7 act as both app server and web server?

I am creating a JavaEE Web Application which uses ExtJS4(Extended Javascript) for the GUI and Postgres database. I am planning to use the JBoss7 server. But I had a doubt that whether the JBoss 7 will act both as App Server and Web Server..?? Can anyone please help me with this..?

Also, I wanted to know if there is anything else that is required for developing the application?

Yes, that's what JavaEE servers are designed for.

But targeted on dynamic web pages created by frameworks like JSF. Not optimal for a lot of static content.

When starting new, you should use latest available version which is 8.1. JBoss AS is named WildFly now.

Thanks for the info..it was helpful for me ya I ll consider your suggestion of using JBoss 8 and try to use that.
