I don't see web components making GWT or Errai solutions obsolete.
We could provide functionality to export Errai UI components as web components. Also, we have to make sure Errai UI templates can leverage existing web components. The advantages of GWT and Errai (using a type-safe declarative programming model) still remain the same.
I haven't started any work on this but it's on the roadmap. Happy to discuss more.

What would really help is if we can convert the Errai tutorial demo to using Polymer instead of Bootstrap. Charles is trying exactly that ...
