depete Dec 12, 2008 8:31 AM (in response to edelln)Hi,
Just tried the jdk 1.5.0_17 - same problem. Think the problem is Maven ??
Any suggestions ?

3. Re: Archetype does not exist - trying to run example by A.Trenaman, file-to-jms
janstey Dec 12, 2008 9:18 AM (in response to depete)Try this on the command line:
mvn archetype:generate -DarchetypeRepository=http://repo.open.iona.com/maven2 -DarchetypeGroupId=org.apache.servicemix.tooling -DarchetypeArtifactId=servicemix-file-poller-service-unit -DarchetypeVersion=3.3.1.11-fuse
Looks to be that the archetype plugin has been updated since m2eclipse was released.
Cheers,
Jon

I've been having the same problem. I ran the command line as you suggested, but then that failed as well with a "... not configured error"
It then continues to say:
Property groupId is missing.
Property artifactId is missing.
Property package is missing.
What am I doing wrong? I am just trying to get a simple tutorial up and running and haven't had much luck today.
Thanks,
Jeff

5. Re: Archetype does not exist - trying to run example by A.Trenaman, file-to-jms
janstey Dec 23, 2008 8:02 AM (in response to poiuypoiuy)Jeff,
Did you try passing in the groupId, etc on the command line as well?
mvn archetype:generate -DarchetypeRepository=http://repo.open.iona.com/maven2 -DarchetypeGroupId=org.apache.servicemix.tooling -DarchetypeArtifactId=servicemix-file-poller-service-unit -DarchetypeVersion=3.3.1.11-fuse -DgroupId=com.mycompany -DartifactId=myapp -Dversion=1.0-SNAPSHOT
If this doesn't work, pass in -X to the command and attach the full log to this thread. Let me know if you need more help.
Cheers,
Jon

poiuypoiuy Dec 23, 2008 12:54 PM (in response to depete)That worked, thanks. I must have had a copy/paste error from your previous posting. If I get an earlier version of Maven will I be able to do things within Eclipse?
Thanks,
Jeff

janstey Jan 20, 2009 3:05 PM (in response to poiuypoiuy)Update:
Seems that this problem only occurs when using the archetypes catalog provided at
http://repo.open.iona.com/maven2/archetype-catalog.xml
When using the FUSE Nexus index, all is well

surajit_surajit.choudhury Jan 23, 2009 1:57 AM (in response to janstey)Well, I added the Open Iona site as described, but while Nexus Indexer now shows the updated versions of servicemix archetypes - 3.3.1.13 as opposed to 3.2.3 - it still does not work:

Strangely, it works under some circumstances:
If I uncheck the box to show only latest version, select 3.2.3, then change my selection from 3.2.3 to 3.3.1.13-fuse (the latest) - it works! Go figure.

10. Re: Archetype does not exist - trying to run example by A.Trenaman, file-to-jms
janstey Jan 23, 2009 8:22 AM (in response to surajit_surajit.choudhury)I'm a bit confused here... I couldn't reproduce the error after many tries. Many thanks for posting your solution though, in case others were still having issues.
I can still reproduce the archetype catalog issue so I will keep the ticket open.

11. Re: Archetype does not exist - trying to run example by A.Trenaman, file-to
oisin Jan 30, 2009 8:52 PM (in response to janstey)I found that if you add the FuseSource indices, then add the FuseSource archetypes, then make sure that you are using an external version of Maven, rather than the Maven Embedder, things work smoothly. It's a bit of manual labo[u]r, so I'm looking to see if I can hack up a couple of plugins with the appropriate Maven extensions to make it a bit easier to manage.

finn.kerry Mar 5, 2009 3:19 PM (in response to janstey)Hi,
I too - am new to FUSE (just switching over to maven too) and trying Adrian's example and hitting the same problem.
Here's what I have installed (while trying to build the first example):
- Eclipse 3.4 (also have myeclipse as well - no luck with that as well).
- Maven 2.0.9
- Java 1.5
- Vista
- FUSE 3.4.0.1
- I ran the "mvn archetype:generated....." command line ... not sure if it worked though - looked okay.
I get the same error mentioned at the beginning of this thread:
Unable to create project from archetype
org.apahce.servicemix-file-poller-service-unitL3.2.3 -> http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/
I do appreciate your help.
thanks,
Kerry

Can you add what archetype you are using and the version number? I tried latest archetypes for JMS and had no problem generating SA from eclipse.
