ESB 4 Won't start after reinstall

    mjacobs84

      Hi,

I installed ESB 4 on my mac and everything worked fine. I then decided I wanted to install it to another directory, so I tried to uninstall it . There wasnt a file that was mentioned the guide. so I tried to run the .app file. It then said that it could not remove the etc diectory inside the installation. So I just deleted the whole installation directory. Now when I reinstalled to a new location I can not start it when i run the command ./bin/servicemix .  It just sits there. Are there other files that need to be removed before I reinstall? What should I do? Please help.

          Hi,

I tried out ESB 4.1 on my Macbook and wasn't able to reproduce the starting issue you saw. I did encounter the unable to remove /etc when using the 'uninstall-common-fuse-esb' app, so I used 'rm -rf install_dir' to delete my first installation. Then I did a fresh install to a new directory. I started the esb from the bin folder each time. Was there any data logged to the /data/log/servicemix.log file?

          My setup:

          Macbook w/ OS X 10.5.6 (x86)

          Java version 1.5.0_16

          Cheers,

          Jamie

Weird...It magically started to work after I tried to reinstall it again.
