Anybody using DRBD + Linux Heartbeat with ActiveMQ?

I'm researching ways of implementing a shared filesystem ActiveMQ master/slave and ran into the idea of using DRBD + Linux Heartbeat.  The idea would be to use DRBD to create a replicated filesystem between 2 machines that would store ActiveMQ's data directory, then use heartbeat to detect failures of the master and start ActiveMQ on the slave.

Does anybody have experience with this?  Did it work well?  Any performance issues with DRBD filesystems?

      Thanks,
