Is it correct that the FTP protocol is only supported in Fuse ESB to deliver messages (specified as to uri in a route) and not for FTP inbound requests (specified as from uri in a route) ?

No,  we also have ftp consumer which is  built as a scheduled consumer to be used in the from route, you can consume message from ftp server, more details take a look at .
