jpa-hibernate and JPA2?

Hi,

Now that FUSE is owned by RedHat would it be possible to have the jpa-hibernate feature updated to a more recent version of Hibernate - i.e. a JPA 2 implementation?

It seems strange for a RedHat product to have such an old version of Hibernate.

Also, if it could integrate with camel-jpa so it could be used easily from camel in blueprint that would be great.

I will check this out within the next weeks. Currently I'am working with the JPA 1 Hibernate version shipped within the fuse examples.

I have raised a feature request for a JPA2 version of hibernate to be included via my redhat customer portal.

http://fusesource.com/issues/browse/ENH-175 has been raised on my behalf but I cant actually view the Jira

Are there any plans to get this in the next release of FUSE (with out of the box camel support)?

The next release is expected in Q2, JBoss Fuse 6.0, and this will not be included. This release has passed the deadline for adding new functionality, and we are working on finalizing this release.

OSGi support is still active being worked on at the Hibernate project. When that is complete, I am pretty sure we will have a hibernate feature in JBoss Fuse so its very easy to install and use Hibernate.
