JBoss EAP 6.2 in domain mode, HC1 cannot connect to local

I have set up JBoss EAP 6.2 in an AWS EC2 instance and wish to run in domain mode. I have not modified the domain.xml and host.xml files, but when starting with domain.sh -bmanagement 0.0.0.0 (because I need to be able to access the management console remotely), I get the following error:

15:27:17,425 ERROR [org.jboss.msc.service.fail] (ServerService Thread Pool -- 1) MSC000001: Failed to start service jboss.server-boot-operations: org.jboss.msc.service.StartException in service jboss.server-boot-operations: java.net.ConnectException: JBAS012144: Could not connect to remote://0.0.0.0:9999. The connection timed out

I don't have this issue when using the same config in our on-premises resources, only in AWS.

Could you use the real IP address instead of 0.0.0.0?

If you have a subscrition I recommend to use the Red Hat Customer portal to create a support case.

Hi. Thanks for your response. Would using the real IP address of the DC allow me to access the management console remotely? I was under the impression that using 0.0.0.0 was the only way for this to work. I do have a subscription and can open a case if necessary. Although I figured that as a new JBoss admin, this is probably a quick and easy answer for the veterans.

Wolf-Dieter, your suggestion was correct! I can successfully use the actual IP address of the machine where the DC lives and all connections-- local HC connection, remote HC connection, management console connection from remote hosts- all worked just fine. I did try that once in my troubleshooting, but determined after the fact that my local firewall was culprit as to why remote connections were not working.
