1. Re: Using DistributedExecutorService via HotRod
nadirx Sep 10, 2014 2:52 AM (in response to david.novak)Hi David,
unfortunately Distributed Executors and Map/Reduce jobs cannot be started from HotRod clients yet.
[ISPN-1094] Map/Reduce over HotRod - JBoss Issue Tracker is something we'd like to do soon.

vblagojevic Sep 10, 2014 5:57 AM (in response to david.novak)1 of 1 people found this helpfulDavid, although Tristan is 100% right in his answer to you perhaps you should not give up and wait for ISPN-1094 ! See if you can use some form of remote invocation to signal initiation of distributed task. Sometimes that will suffice.

david.novak Sep 10, 2014 6:05 AM (in response to vblagojevic)Guys, Thanks for your answers! I did not realize that HotRod protocol is not just for Java and thus executing my own Java "DistributedCallable" is principally not possible... As Vladimir suggested, I will have my own server-side Java process with embedded Ispn and my Java clients will communicate in other way to start the distributed taks on Ispn.
Thanks once again
