1. Re: Will JBoss 4.x officially drop CMP 1.x suuport via jaws?
fbiaggi Dec 3, 2004 12:29 PM (in response to obender)Not official,
but on JBoss 4.0.0 all the jaws related classes are not here. -

starksm64 Dec 3, 2004 12:40 PM (in response to obender)JAWS is gone from 4.0.0. You need to migrate to the cmp2.1 engine.

3. Re: Will JBoss 4.x officially drop CMP 1.x suuport via jaws?
obender Dec 3, 2004 1:14 PM (in response to obender)Is there any good documents for this? For example how to migrate jaws.xml to jbosscp-jdbc.xml?
Especially what to do with elements? -

They still there at least in RC1, but as I could see from the prev. post they will be removed... -
5. Re: Will JBoss 4.x officially drop CMP 1.x suuport via jaws?
aloubyansky Dec 4, 2004 1:47 PM (in response to obender)CMP1.1 is supported by JBossCMP engine. There is no need to have two CMP engines for CMP1.1. So JAWS is removed.

fbiaggi Dec 4, 2004 2:55 PM (in response to obender)OBender,
not jet tested, but i think you should just move the finders (and ?) from jaws.xml to ejb-jar.xml -

First thig I found with new CMP engine that it doesn't handle correctly old (jaws style) finders, e.g.<finder> <name>findByNameAndCompanyID</name> <query>NAME={0} AND COMPANY_ID={1}</query> <order></order> </finder>
it fails to create the finder.
Of course this can be changed to new CMP 2.x way but imagine going through tens of descriptors changing numerous finders. -
8. Re: Will JBoss 4.x officially drop CMP 1.x suuport via jaws?
aloubyansky Dec 6, 2004 2:40 AM (in response to obender)JBossCMP supports EJBQL2.1 for CMP1.1 beans.
You can deploy JAWS on your own. I.e. just copy JAWS classes from previous JBoss version (in jboss.jar) to a jaws.jar and put it in the server/default/lib. Then copy the container configuration. -
9. Re: Will JBoss 4.x officially drop CMP 1.x suuport via jaws?
obender Dec 6, 2004 8:41 AM (in response to obender)Yes, but if there are bugs in the jaws you guys won't do anything about them since it is not supported anymore :) ... well I guess we'll have to live with it somehow.
Last question, right now jaws is still a part of JBoss 4.0.0, I mean it is in a xx/lib/jboss.jar, will it be removed in release version? -
10. Re: Will JBoss 4.x officially drop CMP 1.x suuport via jaws?
starksm64 Dec 6, 2004 10:51 AM (in response to obender)Yes, it will be dropped completely.
