Struggling with maven build on a hello world SwitchYard project

Hi everyone,

I'm totally new to SwitchYard. I'm using JBoss Developer Studio. I can't use maven to build the empty SwitchYard project was created by JBoss Developer Studio.

The mvn commands always get failure:

The following artifacts could not be resolved: org.jboss.web:jbossweb:jar:7.0.16.Final, com.sun.xml.bind:jaxb-impl:jar:2.2.5-redhat-4: Failure to find org.jboss.web:jbossweb:jar:7.0.16.Final in http://maven.repository.redhat.com/techpreview/all/ was cached in the local repository, resolution will not be reattempted until the update interval of redhat-techpreview-all-repository has elapsed or updates are forced -> [Help 1]

I was try to delete the artifact's folder and run mvn clean test -U but that does not work. I try on another machine as well. Neither do they work.

Please help me solve this!

You may have to add the earlyaccess repo as well.  I did verify that the jaxb-impl version is in that repository: http://maven.repository.redhat.com/earlyaccess/all/com/sun/xml/bind/jaxb-impl/2.2.5-redhat-4/

Thank Cernich, that helps a lot. But that solves only jaxb dependency while jbossweb is still missed.

Hi,

Would you be willing to get started another way?  Sometimes it's easier to get started like this:

- Outside the IDE (just from a command terminal), navigate to the 'quickstarts' directory.  Pick an easy quickstart like the 'bean' one.  Use 'mvn package' to make sure you have all the right parts available.

- If the above step fails, fix things before going on.

- Once you know that quickstart can be built from the command line, go to your IDE and use 'import/existing maven project' to import it into JBDS.  If it worked from the command line, it should work here.

- You can add/delete/etc. this project as needed.  Later, after you become more comfortable in the IDE you might try building a project from scratch.  But you can always start from simple 'bean' quickstart and alter it to be whatever you need.

Thank Wagner. Actually, I found the dependencies require the jars, then I removed the unnecessary SwitchYard capabilities that require the dependencies. It's OK for now. I think I probably create my own sonatype repo to get rid of these issues.
