Migrating from JBoss 4.0.3-SP1 to JBoss AS (?) / Infinispan

      Hi all,

We are currently in the process of upgrading our JBoss installation from 4.0.3-SP1! However the landscape seems to have changed a bit.

We would like to run Infinispan but are a little confused as to which version of JBoss we need. So questions are:

      1. If Infinispan bundled into JBoss 8.0 / Firefly?

      2. We will be wanting to use map reduce functionality so if it is bundled do we get these features.

Whilst we are just starting out on this process we would like to use the open source variants however would be interested in the paid for solutions as we may well migrate to these if there is a benefit.

      Any help is much appreciated.

      Regards

      Lea.

If you stay with community you can use WildFly and the Infinispan modules, the reason is that the Infinispan module integrated in WildFly does not have the full functionality - it is only used for internal caching. Infinispan will have a packed set of modules to provide the full functionality.

If you plan to switch to the EAP/JDG version I would use the 0$ developer edition for migration, in this case it is very easy to switch to the last version of EAP/JDG if you go final into production with a subscription. See this page for the subscription benefits. But if you contact Sales and pay for a smaller subscription during the 'migration' time you will have the benefit of the last patches and the full access to the Knowledgebase.
