Problem connecting to Cassandra instance

Hi,

Is there any documentation available on how to model a Cassandra data source in Teiid? I modified the standalone-teiid.xml file to include Cassandra data source (as described here: Cassandra Data Sources - Teiid 8.8 (draft) - Project Documentation Editor). Then, I tried to access the Cassandra instance by creating a JDBC connection (using Teiid Designer's Model Data Sources -> Create JDBC connection). I chose Generic JDBC option and provided the JDBC driver JAR (provided by DataStax) for Cassandra. But I always get an exception (unspecified exception) when I try to connect. I'm using Cassandra 2.0.9 (DataStax Community Edition).

I don't think this will work as described.  DataStax does not provide a JDBC driver, rather it's an api for interacting with Cassandra.  You'll want to use the Teiid Connection importer so that Designer can reuse the Cassandra source that you have created for the Teiid server.

1) When using the Designer, create project, then choose "File -> Import -> Teiid Designer -> Teiid Connection Importer"

2) create Cassandra data source, then use cassandra translator, it will take you through steps to create a source model that represents the Cassendra your connection points to.
