You could also use Stomp to connect to JBoss Fuse internal message broker (ActiveMQ) in case you need asynchrouns communication, see http://php.net/manual/en/stomp.examples.php. However, this would require to setup a Stomp connector, see https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_JBoss_A-MQ/6.1/html/Connection_Reference/files/AMQConnectRefStomp.… and https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_JBoss_A-MQ/6.1/html/Managing_and_Monitoring_a_Broker/files/ch12s01… how to set this up.
