I got confused because in the documentation it says "JBoss EAP 6 is a certified implementation of the Java Enterprise Edition 6 Full Profile and Web Profile specifications." and "Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 6 (JBoss EAP 6) is a middleware platform built on open standards and compliant with the Java Enterprise Edition 6 specification" and doesn't mention JDK1.7 support.

Java EE and Java JDK/JRE are different things.
Java EE is a enterprise specification which has its own versioning and isn't related to the Java language version.
