    EULA License issue

    bsudhananthan

JBoss EAP version is distributed under LGPL. But in JBoss End User License Agreement its says, need to subscribe to get fixes/updates/patches.

In Intellectual Property Rights the term "removal of trademark", in that what you suggest to do.

There is no document specify what needs to be removed and build to make it distributable without subscription.

So due to this we still using the older version JBoss AS 7.1.1.Final. So to migrate I need clear picture about this license contradictions.

      Thanks,

Why not WildFly 8.2 as it is next version of AS7 and has lots of new features and bug fixes that 7.1.1 doesn't

            Thanks for your quick reply.

Yes, going to WildFly is great idea. But it takes lot of effort in migration.

Why can't I use EAP versions. I need a steps(i.e what needs to be removed and build) to make EAP version distributable without getting any subscription.

We perform a great amount of work at great expense above and beyond the community effort to produce EAP.  I hope you will understand that we have no motivation to provide instructions on how to make that distribution freely distributable.  You can do it because the license allows you to, but the effort will have to be yours.
