FileUpload does not work with Internet Explorer

Currently rich:fileUpload does not really work when using Internet Explorer. It is possible to select a file, but when clicking “Open” in the selection dialog, the selected file does not show up in the upload list, hence you cannot upload the file in the next step.

File upload works fine with FireFox and Safari (have not tested with other browsers).

We use RichFaces 4.5.2 and MyFaces 2.2.7.

I am pretty sure it is not a problem of our specific environment, because there is the same behavior with the official Showcase (see http://showcase.richfaces.org/richfaces/component-sample.jsf?demo=fileUpload&skin=blueSky), i.e. the Showcase sample does not work too with IE.

which version of IE do you use? I tried it with IE 10 and 11 with Showcase and it works fine.

Hi, there is a new implementation of file upload in RichFaces 4.5 which doesn't work in IE9. It's a known problem and can't be easily fixed because of missing API in IE9.

I am facing the same issue with IE 8 with latest version of Rich face 4.5.5.

FileUpload from 4.5.x does not work in IE 8 (and IE 9), there is no workaround unfortunately.
