1. Re: multipart/formdata not executing actions
ctomc Feb 2, 2015 4:14 AM (in response to bigman921)Don't use RichFaces 5, as it was discontinued, use RF 4.5 which should work fine.
for more about this see http://www.bleathem.ca/blog/2014/07/richfaces-will-pursue-stability-over-innovation.html

enctype="multpart/form-data".
Is that a typo while posting here? Or is it actually that way in the form element in your application? It should be multipart/form-data
Can you also post the relevant HTML code that you see when the page is rendered? You can do a view source on the rendered page to get the actual HTML.

4. Re: multipart/formdata not executing actions
bigman921 Feb 2, 2015 10:15 AM (in response to jaikiran)Its a typo in my post but the xhtml is correct. Here's the generated HTML:
<form id="j_idt85" name="j_idt85" method="post" action="/path/to/file.xhtml" enctype="multipart/form-data">
<input type="hidden" name="j_idt85" value="j_idt85" />
<div class="control-group">
<label class="control-label" for="newFile">Attach New
File</label>
<div class="controls"><input type="file" id="j_idt85:newFile" name="j_idt85:newFile" />
</div>
</div>
<div class="control-group">
<div class="controls"><input type="submit" name="j_idt85:j_idt88" value="Attach File" />
</div>
</div><input type="hidden" name="javax.faces.ViewState" id="javax.faces.ViewState" value="-9069211497573621515:-589442589608577885" autocomplete="off" />
</form>
Here's the content over the wire...i don't know why it shows a PK :
