Creating our own User Id in the KIE workbench

I tried creating my own user for the KIE Workbench on my local setup, however if I try to login with the user created it always says "Authentication Failed"

I see the following on the command prompt. Is it expected? Can someone explain what it means?

Is this new user going to be used for one AS process to connect to another AS process?

e.g. for a slave host controller connecting to the master or for a Remoting connection for server to server EJB calls.

As far as I know it doesn't really matter from the application perspective.

Which roles did you added to the user that you have created for the application? (Roles/Groups)

I'm trying to create a user with just "IT" role.

I even changed the role.properties and user.properties in the "wildfly-8.1.0.Final\standalone\configuration" folder.

I see that the appication-user.properties file has an entry created automatically.

However I'm still unable to login with those credentials

Please read the documentation: Chapter 9. Workbench

Look there, you need to set one of the roles for the application -> section 9.4.2 and use the ./add-user.sh script to add users. Do not modify files by hand.

Initially I started with what was mentioned in the Workbench-> section 9.4.2 i.e using the command "./add-user.sh" . I did see a entry in the application-user.properties and application-role.properties.

However, upon trying to login with the same credentials it failed.

But when I changed manually, it worked provided I give it the "admin" role along with the "IT" role.

Question: I believe admin role allows the user to make changes/author projects.

Is it possible to create a user which only has access to the task list ( no admin role)?

yes, create another user with role "user" and another one with role "analyst" and give it a try with those different users to see what are the differences.
