Just for curious, How did you ensured still it is listening the default multicast address "224.0.1.105"

had to modify modcluster socket binding to override default value with runtime value.
From:
<socket-binding name="modcluster" port="0" multicast-address="224.0.1.105" multicast-port="23364"/>
To:
<socket-binding name="modcluster" port="0" multicast-address="${jboss.modcluster.multicast.address:224.0.1.105}" multicast-port="23364"/>
now the default value will be overriden by -Djboss.modcluster.multicast.address value.
