What are the prerequisites for a maven project to have JPAFacet

I have a maven project of packaging EAR, with a file persistence.cml in src/main/resources/META-INF/ but for didn't add the JPAFacet ? Why ?

Are there other prerequisites to activate it ?

I push my analysis further, and tried to move persistence,xml from my ear module to the ejb module, and this time the JPA Facet was added to the ejb module.

That's the trick.

But is it a bad practice to put persistence.xml in the ear module ?
