Changing log level in JBoss 7 expects restart

Hi,

Changing logger level in JBoss 7 expects restart, if I edit the standalone configuration file manually. I knew changing via JMX/Jboss-cli.sh will make effect immediately.

But in JBoss 5, jboss-log4j.xml editing manually the logger level reflects in the logs. Is there any way to have this exact behaviour in JBoss 7?

The standalone/domain config files aren't meant to be changed manually (especially) when the server is running. You will have to use the management tools like admin console, JBoss CLI or even JMX console to do those changes and have them picked up dynamically.
