Eviction issue with infinispan 6.x

Dear Infinispan Team,

we are using the JBoss Modeshape 4.2 repository in one of our projects. It is clustered and configured to use a database as persistent store.

We came across the issue https://issues.jboss.org/browse/MODE-2280 which is blocked by https://issues.jboss.org/browse/ISPN-4810. Modeshape 4.x uses Infinispan 6.x as a cache and persistence layer. The bug was only fixed for 5.x and 7.2.x, are there any plans to backport that to 6.x? Are there any technical difficulties that prevent a backport to 6.x? Otherwise we are pretty much stuck with that issue (see discussion https://developer.jboss.org/thread/254552) because Modeshape does not support newer versions of Infinispan API-wise.

Unfortunately the Infinispan 6.x community branch is closed since it is the basis of the supported Red Hat JBoss Data Grid product. I'll talk with the Modeshape maintainers to see whether the Infinispan version they use can be upgraded.
