As far as I know this is not something new in EAP 6.4, it was introduced in EAP 6.1.
However, this is listed as "tech preview", which means it might be not mature enough and shouldn't be used in production; and it might be dropped off / become unsupported in future product releases.
Had some search for you:
>> Or, whats the best way to use JSF 2.2?
There is no perfect way I think, unfortunately.
I would say the best thing you could do is, either to go with JSF 2.1.x shipped along with EAP 6.x, or try this Multi-JSF (as tech preview, it might not work perfectly as expected sometimes)
thanks for your answer.
Ok, I see. I didn't realized it's in the tech preview section.
Well, in the meantime I found this for wildfly Design of WildFly Multi-JSF feature
We will give it a try.
Yeah that's for WildFly, but not EAP6 / AS7, so may be slightly different ...
Good luck for that anyway.
What we did was just replace the 2.1.* jars with the 2.2.* jars and updated the module's xml. I recommend that route unless you specifically need the 2.1.* jars.
