rich:modalPanel does not work in IE9 RC

Hi,

I use rich:modalPanel in my application, and it work well in IE8 and FF3. I open this panel by set showWhenRendered=true in the backing bean.

But it can't open the panel in IE 9 RC.

How to reproduce:

Press F12 in IE 9 RC;

Click Browser mode and click IE9;

Click a button, in which action's method, set showWhenRendered=true.

BTW, if set Browser mode to IE8, it works well.

And, after it once workes well in IE8 mode, it workes well in IE9 mode.

Reproduce after workes well in IE9 mode:

Restart tomcat;

Click internet options in IE9 menu;

Click Advanced;

Click Reset...;

Check "Delete personal settings";

Click Reset;

Richface3.3.3 final + IE9RC + Tomcat6.0.29

At first 3.3.3 Final release were done a long ago before IE9 first available build.. So we really has no chanse to review. And now the branch in the "community support" state. There is no  more active development. We definitelly need to check how things going with IE 9 and look for some workarounds if there will be problems. But that probably will be done after Final IE9 release. We can't do such work for every browser milestone build especially in non-active branch.

I've read a lot about IE9 problems with Richfaces 3.3.

Could you please tell me how this situation? The new version 3.3.x to fix IE 9 is already available? Where can I download?

currently the only workaround is to use <meta> which will turn IE8 compatible mode. And we appreciate any community patches for 3.3.x as all the team concentrated on RF 4 works now.

Hi Ilya,

Is the issue fixed now. I am using JSF 1.2 and RF 3.3.0 and not able to get the richmodel panel in IE. I found the link stating the issue is still there in RF 3.3.3final

Please suggest the workaround to get the popUp panel without upgrading the RF version/JSF version.

Ahhhh ,One more question - I was trying to get the ID of <h:commandLink> using "thid.id" but it was returning null all the time. I could get the ID then I can apply the below fix:

setTimeout('document.getElementById(\'' + this.id + '\').disabled=true;', 50);
