Highlighting rich:dropDownMenu on refresh

I have a problem with rich:dropDownMenu. In Firefox, when the page is refreshed, all menu positions are highlighted as they were selected. After a second everything looks normally. The same effect is in RichFaces Showcase - when I press F5 or change a skin, menu looks like this:

I'm using rich:dropDownMenu as main application menu. It has many positions and looks awful when gets highlighted on every page change. Is there any workaround for this issue? I don't mean switching off highlighting on select in css, it's nice effect.

Tested on Firefox 39.0 on Ubuntu and Windows.

The items are getting selected due to an overriden method (that's a bug) but I wonder why it's only visible in Firefox.

This is visible on IE too (at least on IE >= 10). Looks like only webkit browsers are "safe". Should this be reported also via JIRA?
