JBoss standalone.sh will not start this week

I had JBoss 7.1.1 running last week on my Mac in the Applications directory.  I was having a problem finding my files.  I did not have a .ngoit directory so I started up Git.  Then JBoss would not start.  It hangs fire at the line that reads

2:08:37,765 INFO  [org.jboss.as] JBAS015899: JBoss AS 7.1.1.Final "Brontes" starting

I have rebooted the Mac a couple of times, gone through the running processes but I cannot find what is causing my JBoss to hang fire now.  I did reboot without Git but that did not help either.

Anyone else had this problem?  If so, how did you fix it?  (Linux is similar to Mac OSX which started as FreeBSD, an AT&T Unix University Free version.)

My wild guess based on prediction would be that you are trying to run AS7 with JDK8 which results on hang on boot as you descibed.

Why it started just this week? you probably installed JDK8 or changed defaults of Mac.

In short use JDK7 to run AS7 or upgrade to WildFly 8+ to use it with JDK8

Thanks - upgraded to AS 8 and it is now installing.  Off to the races!!
