Database Based Sessions

Dear community members,

I was taking a look at
http://www.caucho.com/resin-3.0/config/sessions.xtp - a documentary regarding sessions in resin.

I was just pondering if JBoss has a Way to store sessions in a/any database..
This could help maintain session data evenif the application server crashes and whenever you try to get a session data of a user next-time - it will return the users latest session information from the database..

I would appreciate any any discussions/suggestions on this...

Is there nobody who can at least tell and help me in understanding that this thing may not be required in JBoss, if it is not there in JBoss already.

Storing the session would be a functionality of the Tomcat server embedded in JBoss. I may be wrong but that is what I understand.

This looks something nearer to what I am searching for.. What I understood, that this document seems not to be talking about where the session are persisted..
Are they stored in files or can they be stored in a database also. Is it configurable?
for example configuring it in jboss-web.xml, for a particular application, ,means just to set

<passivation>true</passivation>

Does it store at it in some file at..

<properties>
location=/tmp
</properties>

if you have tried this Can you please suggest some usecase..

I do not want to do this in a cluster at the time being and want to try it in a single system/server/web-app
