Using WildFly 9 load balancer with WildFly 8.2 back end servers

Is it possible?

Currently I have 3 servers running in domain mode 8.2.0:

1 will be on domain master

2 other will be as slaves on other 2 machines

I am using Apache with mod_cluster to load balance these servers.

Is it better option to replace Apache with WildFly 9?

If so, How can I configure WildFly 9 mod_cluster and configure backend servers. I saw the sample of domain mode wildfly 9 with all servers on one machine. I would like to confirm the steps required in this case.

Yes - this is possible.  The protocol used by mod_cluster (i.e. MCMP) to communicate between lb and servers has not changed between WF8 and WF9.

As far as which is better - that's entirely subjective.
