In EAP 7.0 Alpha (i.e. WildFly 10), users can perform EJB invocations over http ports using HTTP Upgrade, and the connections can be balanced. It is a persistent connection. But, ejb load balancing has to be done via WildFly clustering / clustered ejbs. (Not the the HTTP load balancer).

"Ability to use the http Load Balancer to balance the requests" i.e. 1-1 mapping of EJB invoations to requests; is a feature that is tentatively considered for future.
