Java 7 and Java 8

Hi

The latest version is already 1 year old. And it is said that Javassist has some problem with Java 7, is that true? I also wonder how will Javassist support the incoming Java 8. Is there any plan for it?

I am trying to use javassist at the moment but it has no idea what the java.lang.String class is... in java 7 and 8. Despite a recent update made it compatible with Java 8, but probably not for doing bytecode manipulation, making javassist useless for my purposes.
