Automatic JBoss backup

Hi All,

Recently in a interview i been asked a question "how can we take back-ups of JBoss?".  i have answered it "manually we take back-up of application/configuration/installation files"(that i follow at my site). However, interviewer said that we can also take the back-ups automatically using JBoss configs (Jboss.backup config).

I have tried to google about same but dint find anything related. Can you all please help me with this, can we take backups automatically??

What version of JBoss or WildFly?

And what you want to backup?

The configuration contains backups of the last used standalone/domain files.

The data or content will be more difficult, as you can't take a snapshot during runtime. There might be inconsistency as the backup will not take all files at the same time.

Hi Fink,

Back-up as in complete back-up of configuration/data files/applications altogether. Would it possible? manually i take back-up of everything but is there any automate way in JBoss?

No JBoss does not provide backup policies like this. This need to be done externally.
