    JBOSS Support

    ismsheikh

      Dear All,

We are using JBOSS 7.11 to run enterprise mission critical application.

From downloads url http://www.jboss.org/jbossas/downloads we realize the version is no more supported and contains security vulnerabilities.

Using this, the security team has asked us to decommission the existing application and migrate to Commercial version of JBOSS.

Request to please let us know what are the options available to deal with the above issue since we want to run the application as is on JBOSS 7.1.1

but are unable to find justification.

          Appreciate your support and cooperation.

      Regards,

      Ismail

          Hello Ismail,

If you want to have support, patches updated etc. you need to have the enterprise version.

7.1.1 is really old, so I recommend to use a newer version anyway.

The best is to get in contact with a Red Hat representative using this page -> https://access.redhat.com/management/

If you have a subsription you can go ahead and use EAP6 (which is based on JBoss AS7) to deploy your application.

EAP6.4. is the latest version and under full maintenace and you get bugfixes and security patches for some years from now

Hope that helps, let me know if there is something I can help with that process

            Dear Fink,

Appreciate your instant response but tentatively how much it will cost do you any idea ?

Is the license based on CPU or OS ?

            Regards,

            Ismail

              See http://www.redhat.com/en/about/subscription

In short, it is based on CPU cores and can be used on any of supported operating systems.

you can see the matrix of supported platforms here https://access.redhat.com/articles/111663
